Isaiah 36:4-6

⁴ Then ^(A)Rabshakeh said to them, “Say now to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, “What is this trust that you have? ⁵ I say, ‘Your counsel and might for the war are only ^[a]empty words.’ Now in whom do you trust, that ^(B)you have rebelled against me? ⁶ Behold, you trust in the ^(C)staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his ^[b]hand and pierce it. ^(D)So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.
